Senior experts from China Construction Steel Structure Association believe that the fire prevention of steel structure buildings has always been the focus of attention of experts in the industry. China's steel structure building fire prevention technology is not as advanced as that of foreign countries. At present, the widely used method is to apply steel structure fire prevention coating on the surface of steel components to play the role of fire prevention and heat insulation protection, prevent the steel from rapidly warming up in the fire and reduce the strength, and prevent the steel structure from losing its supporting ability to collapse of buildings. At present, more and more attention has been paid to the research, production and application of fire retardant coatings for steel structures. It is understood that the production enterprises of fire retardant coatings in China have begun to take shape after more than 20 years of development, and the number of production enterprises has grown to more than 250, but in many fire retardant coating production enterprises, the scale, management level and technical level of enterprises are uneven, and there are few high-quality products. In many production enterprises, only more than half of the enterprises through the ISO9000 quality system certification. The survey found that there are several problems in the fire retardant coating products sold in the domestic market: low fire resistance, easy to fall off, poor decoration, poor durability and unstable quality.
At present, there are many steel structure buildings in China. In order to meet the fire protection requirements, the owners are not allowed to use imported steel structure fireproof coatings. Although the imported fireproof coatings can meet the fire protection requirements, the cost price of nearly 70000 yuan per ton makes the builders miserable. For fire retardant coatings, the key lies in the reasonable formulation and production process.
