From 8th to 9th, the annual work meeting of the Steel Structure Expert Committee of the China Construction Metal Structure Association was held in Wuhan. At the meeting, three academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering-Professor Shen Zuyan of Tongji University, Professor Dong Shilin of Zhejiang University, and Professor Mark Jian of Guizhou University jointly It is recommended to vigorously develop steel structure buildings to resolve the current serious excess steel production capacity. Shen Zuyan uses "light, fast, good and provincial" to describe the characteristics of steel structure buildings. He believes that steel structure buildings are most suitable for industrial construction. Dong Shilin brought his latest research results: a "spherical reticulated shell" composed of six-bar tetrahedral units, which is convenient for industrial prefabrication production. Mark Jian promotes multi-layer large-span "grid structure" on site, mainly for assembly construction. According to reports, 80% of the components of the steel structure building can be processed in the factory, and it is easy to dismantle. Some products and materials can be reused and recycled, which is an important representative of green buildings. Compared with traditional concrete buildings, its own weight is reduced by 40%, the construction efficiency is increased by 4 times, the construction period is shortened by 1/3, the carbon emission is reduced by 35%, and the housing rate is increased by more than 5%, which is more popular in developed countries. Statistics show that in the past five years, the annual steel consumption of steel structure buildings in China ranges from 30 million tons to 50 million tons, accounting for about 5% of the steel output, which is significantly lower than that of the United States, Japan and Germany, compared with 45%, Japan and Germany. Academicians believe that by vigorously promoting and developing steel structure buildings, we can not only resolve the excess capacity of the steel industry, but also promote the industrialization of construction and realize the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries.
